(Houston, TX) 8/11/2025 – On Wednesday, August 13, Houston resident will receive the keys to a fully refurbished 2021 Nissan Rogue. Anthony Huynh-Tu is only 26 years old, but he is the cornerstone of his entire family. Anthony was nominated by Fort Bend Family Promise for this life changing opportunity for him and his family. The vehicle will be presented to Anthony this Wednesday for the first time, as he receives the keys in a gifting ceremony at 1st Choice Collision in Houston.

At just 26 years old, Anthony Huynh-Tu is the steady anchor of his family. Raised in a home marked by emotional abuse and instability, Anthony stepped into the role of caregiver early on. When his father left, he became the one his family could count on—helping raise his younger brothers, supporting his mother, and navigating survival while still a teenager.
Today, Anthony continues to carry that responsibility with quiet strength. He lives with and cares for his mother, who suffers from severe anxiety, depression, and asthma. She receives ongoing treatment through Texana and relies on Anthony for daily support and transportation. He also cares for his 16-year-old brother, who lives with a chromosomal disorder that affects his cognitive development. Anthony ensures he gets to school, receives proper care, and has the structure every child deserves. His 19-year-old brother is currently in college, and Anthony does his best to support him emotionally and financially, helping him stay focused while managing everything else at home.
Despite these demands, Anthony earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science—an incredible achievement given the weight he’s carried. He now works with Fort Bend Family Promise, supporting families experiencing homelessness—families whose struggles mirror his own.
But one major barrier remains: transportation. Without a vehicle, Anthony and his family rely on expensive rideshares just to reach work, school, and critical medical appointments. The financial strain is intense, and every trip comes with a cost—both emotional and economic. A donated vehicle would be life-changing. It would mean consistency, peace of mind, and the ability to move forward without constant sacrifice.
Anthony has never asked for help—not when he was homeless, not when he was raising his brothers, not when he was putting himself through college. He simply kept going, with humility and hope.
